Gusztav Fenyo - Pianist
Gusztáv's repertoire includes concertos by Bartok, Beethoven,
Brahms, Chopin, Dohnanyi, Dvorak, Gershwin, Grieg, Liszt, Mozart,
Prokofieff, Rachmaninoff, Ravel, Saint-Saens, Strauss, Tchaikovsky,
Weber. Gusztáv was born in South America and became an Australian
citizen in 1970. At age 18 he won the ABC Concerto Competition
and on graduation from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music that year,
he won scholarships to study in London and Budapest. Since his London
début at the Wigmore Hall in 1978 Gusztáv has performed solo and
chamber repertoire throughout Australia, Europe and North America,
as well as appearing as soloist with major orchestras in Australia,
Hungary, Franceand the UK. Gusztáv Fenyo has broadcast for the ABC,
BBC and Hungarian Radio and made commercial recordings of solo works
by Chopin, Liszt and Hungarian composer Gyula Csapó. He regularly
performs with the German violinist Susanne Stanzeleit, with whom
he has recorded a complete Bartók series.
